Start with the full cost
Build your estimate from the item price, China-side delivery, any agent or payment charges, international shipping, optional services and applicable destination taxes or handling. Avoid comparing item prices as if they were delivered prices.
Use the packed parcel
The weight of an unpacked item is not the same as the chargeable weight of the final parcel. Packaging, shoeboxes and protective materials can change both actual weight and volume.
Check actual and volumetric weight
Some routes charge by actual weight; others use the greater of actual and volumetric weight. Ask for the route’s calculation and limits. There is no universal divisor or price that applies to every line.
Compare routes for your destination
Use the official estimator with your destination, weight and dimensions. Compare estimated transit time, item restrictions, tracking, coverage and all charges. Delivery ranges are estimates, not guarantees.
Keep destination rules current
Customs and tax treatment depend on destination, goods and current rules. Check your customs authority and the carrier’s terms. A route described as tax-inclusive still needs its current conditions checked.
Keep a dated estimate
Save the inputs, quote date, currency and what is included. Recheck at parcel submission: a guide or calculator snapshot cannot guarantee the checkout price.
Add up the whole cost
Enter your own quotes in one currency. This tool adds your figures; it does not retrieve agent rates or calculate taxes.
Use the same currency for every field. Use 0 only for a charge confirmed to be zero. Your entries clear on reload.Blank costs are unknown.
Reading a parcel quote
What information do I need for a shipping estimate?
Prepare the destination, exact item types and quantities, final packed weight, packed length × width × height, and requested packaging or services. Use the agent’s current estimator or a quote for those inputs. If final packing is still unknown, record that limitation instead of treating an item-only estimate as a confirmed parcel price.
How do actual weight and volumetric weight affect a quote?
Actual weight is the packed parcel’s measured mass. Volumetric weight is calculated from its packed dimensions using the chosen route’s rules. Confirm the divisor, rounding, minimums and which weight the route bills; this guide supplies no universal OSSBuy formula. A jacket or shoebox can change volume without a matching change in mass. Compare puffer packing considerations before requesting a fresh quote.
Why does the calculator show a known subtotal?
One or more cost fields are still blank or invalid, so the delivered cost remains unresolved. Enter confirmed figures in one currency, use zero only for a confirmed zero charge, and avoid counting a bundled fee twice. The cost calculator adds your inputs; it does not retrieve shipping rates or calculate taxes. For a complete-versus-incomplete comparison, read the worked cost example.
Use the checklist on your own finds
Start with the sneaker sizing and QC checklist, compare hoodie measurements and oversized fit, or choose from all category guides. Keep your actual links and evidence in the comparison tool.
For current agent policies and tools, use the official OSSBuy website and its help centre. This guide does not operate the agent service.
